A new release is available. In this release, there are a couple of fixes for some minor but niggly bugs. There is also now the ability to set the start time for the current task by using the "Issues" menu or right-clicking the current task. This feature was requested by a user but of course it is not the only such feature.
Despite the short lifespan of Worklog Assistant, there are quite a few user-suggested modifications to Worklog Assistant. This past week, I've come to greatly rely on one specific feature: the time tracking reminder balloon. This was a feature added
last week. I've come to rely on these other features as well:
- Tracking notes
- Hyperlinked access to a specific issue
There are still more such features to come, I can't wait to see what I come to rely on next! Anyone else want to say what features they rely on?

Hi,
I'm a new user, just downloaded on Friday. Guys, this is a great solution!! Congrats. It's such a nice integration with Jira.
One feature that other time tracking systems have is the ability to notify you after x amount of time to log your time to a ticket. Another is to back start based on your last entry.
Anyway, I love the product and you'll be seeing a bunch of licenses come out of our company in the next month or so.
Cheers,
- Geoff
Hey Geoff,
Thanks for your comments!
One of the new features is such a reminder (or at least as I understand it). You can see a screenshot of it in action here: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_NJChfbPZ2fA/SfOFWDDua1I/AAAAAAAAAGY/p8ZrZUSTRoo/s1600-h/Screenshot.png
You can configure the reminder interval in the application configuration menu.
I'm not sure I totally understand what you mean by "back start based on your last entry." Could you elaborate a little?
By the way, you might be interested in adding your feature requests to the "official support" page here: http://getsatisfaction.com/somanisoftware/products/somanisoftware_worklog_assistant
I certainly hope you do buy some licenses! Depending on how many users you have, the configurator (works with Enterprise licenses) may make deployment easier. You can find more documentation on that here: http://worklogassistant.com/deploymentguide.html
Be sure to use the 30 day trial to your advantage and always point out if there are any things that you would like improved.
Thanks again and I look forward to more comments!
Hi Sohail,
On the "back start" functionality - if you have forgotten to start the timer and then realized 35 minutes later that you have been working on a task, it would be nice to be able to say "start this task after the last worklog entry." So if your last log entry finished at 9:30 and you remembered to log at 10:15, you could "back start" the ticket so that it starts at 9:30. Make sense, or can Worklog Assistant already do this?
Cheers,
- Geoff
Geoff,
I understand what you are saying now. You can't do exactly this, but there is a way to almost get the same behaviour:
* Start the task timer by double-clicking
* Right-click on the current task and choose "Set Start Time".
* Set the start time to 9:30
It isn't exactly what you wanted, but I think using the last worklog end time would be a brilliant innovation to this functionality. Would you mind adding a feature request to the page here:

Thanks!
Thanks Sohail, the "Set Start Time" works nicely - I saw that earlier but couldn't figure out how to get it to work. Doh!
I'll add the "Back Start" request.
