Hi Sohail,

Just wanted to share with all your faithful blog readers that you have successfully debugged my problem. You developed a new version of the JIRA plugin that supports WLA. We installed the new version and now all of our team members can enjoy the use of custom fields, even the non-administrators.

That's exactly right! The only people who are able to see the custom fields in WLA are indeed people in the jira-administrators group.

I'll get that plugin installed and let you know the outcome!

Hey Mark,

The reason is that JIRA's standard RPC API does not allow regular users to retrieve the names of custom fields. This is what the plugin linked above adds. So I suspect that those users for whom it works are in the jira-administrators group.

Hi Sohail,

A couple of our team members installed the new beta version and can see a new field called "custom_0010" or something similar and none of the other new fields related to time estimates.

On the other hand, when I updated my version, I got the all the new fields plus all the custom fields. Any ideas why one person's installation would of this v1.0.1119 would behave differently than someone else's installation of the same version?
